Come check out our new video podcast, “Policy Drivers,” where we talk to prominent Texans who are transforming public policy within the state. Farm&City’s four Summer 2020 Interns, August, Madilyn, Olivia, and Tynan, will talk to leaders from across the state about the work they are doing and what it takes to succeed in policy and planning.
This series will include weekly discussions with local or statewide policymakers who will give us insight into their specific policy specialty and give us some of their thoughts on Farm&City’s is projects. We will release the videos on our Youtube channel. Join us in this informative, fun new Farm&City project.
Our very first Policy Driver was Austin City Council Member Natasha Harper-Madison. She talked about adjusting to being an elected official after her previous work as a community advocate with East Austin Advocates. She gave us some insightful tips and advice for young professionals entering into the policy space.
“You get into this work because you want to be a voice,” she said. “You want to be a voice for people who you feel like aren’t being represented.”
The full discussion can be found here. Check back in with us weekly to see the rest of the summer series.

You can support our work to empower all Texans to meaningfully engage in the Vision Zero movement by donating to our summer fundraising campaign, which is partially funding our team of summer interns, who are working hard to support the growth of the Vision Zero movement statewide.
