Recently, the Farm&City team had the chance to sit down with Dr. Amanda Masino for the newest episode of Policy Drivers, the video podcast where we have a chance to talk with officials and community leaders about their work and policy in general.
Dr. Masino is an Associate Professor of Biology at Huston-Tillotson University, the Executive Director of the Austin Community Data Coalition, serves on the City of Austin’s Zero Waste Advisory Commission, and is involved in many other research, education, and service projects both in the HT campus and wider Austin community.
We discussed a variety of topics including the role of science and research in policy and advocacy, as well as how high quality data can reveal the true impacts of policies that are put in place.
We also had the chance to discuss the connection between a person’s zip code and their health.
We hope you will enjoy having a chance to hear from Dr. Masino as much as we did and will join us for the next episode of Policy Drivers.
